Having a proplem with the rear window on my 1985 300D. The motor is getting power and I can hear it try to move the mechanism, but it just seems to jump and rattle. Door panel is off, and I can see nothing or feel nothing out of place or unusual. Anybody have any thoughts or advice ?

Sounds like the typical window regulator faliure... relatively common on the W123. A new regulator should fix the problem. I'm not sure if you can repair the old one, but once it's removed from the door, maybe you can better see the problem...?

You were correct Dave. Found that someone prior to me had been in the door and had misinstalled the window guide, causing the window to bind up and wearing a couple of teeth down on the regulator. Thanks.

On my 300D I found that both of the rear regulators were warped and twisted. This caused the teeth on the Regulator arm to wear and a bad angle.
Below is what I did to fix the problem: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum...ghlight=Extreme Here is other repair info from that site: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum...isplay.php?f=82 http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/DoItYourSelf |
