It is no secret that Mercedes engineers were always into performance and never into sound in their cars. There is no reason to put speakers in the back of a MB. Audio dealers tell customers they need them for "rear fill". When passengers are in the back seat, and your sound system is playing, it is not possible for them to hear you when there is a conversation, and they would alway ask you to turn down the volume. When I came to this obvious thought I made pods to hold a 6 1/2" coaxial speaker in each front door, with a trunk bandpass subwoofer enclosure that has a partially external port exiting from the top, through the parcel shelf. The bass enters the interior (new concept) instead of the trunk. MBtex is available online to cover pods and make them match perfectly.
